Two dog Parks: one for small dogs and one for larger dogs

Park Dates:
The Recreation Facility is open to Town of Haverstraw residents all year round (weather permitting) from 8:00AM till dusk.

Location:
8/10 of a mile down Bowline Plant Road, off Samsondale Ave. The park is located on the Hudson River past  the power plant.

Facilities Available:
An Olympic size pool with a diving well and wading area, two water slides, a toddler pool, playgrounds, a handicap accessible water spray area, a handicap accessible playground, two tennis court, pickleball court, regulation size volleyball court, walking paths and a fishing pier with a spectacular river view. In 2019 and 2020, we have added a new Challenger Obstacle Course and New Resistance Workout Equipment. There are also numerous picnic tables and grills throughout the park for picnics and a covered pavilion and gazebo for parties (Permits are needed for all parties)

(Permits are needed for all groups of  9 or more entering the Park, all year long)

Once again, there will be NO PARTY PERMITS ALLOWED ON WEEKENDS DURING THE POOL SEASON.

Exit 13-stay left at exit ramp and make left turn onto Thiells/Mt.Ivy Rd.
Travel about 1 1/2 miles and Golf Course will be on your left side.

From the Palisades Parkway South:
Exit 13 - At light turn Left onto 202 East
Make a left at next light onto Thiells/Mt.Ivy Rd

Location:
1/4 mile off of Willow Grove Road in the unincorporated area of the Town of Haverstraw. The park entrance is the first left after the Palisades Interstate Parkway underpass.

Facilities Available:
217 acres of parkland with picnic areas, hiking trails, camping grounds and a 6 acre lake for fishing. A permit is needed for over-night camping.

Park Dates:
The park is open to the general public daily from April 1 thru October 31st, weather permitting, from 9:00AM till dusk.

Future Attractions:
The Town is in the process of getting grants to install trailheads and make hiking and paving improvements.

Thiells Mt. Ivy Ballfields, Thiells, NY

From the Palisades Parkway North:
Exit 13 - stay left at exit ramp and make left turn onto Thiells/Mt.Ivy Rd.
Travel about 1 1/2 miles and ball fields will be on your right side.

From the Palisades South:
Exit 13 - At light turn left onto 202 East
Make a Left at next light onto Thiells/Mt. Ivy Road
Travel about 1 1/2 miles and ball fields will be on your right side.

Facilities Available:
Two baseball and/or softball fields with sixty foot bases and backstops. Fields could be used for various sport teams. Any questions please contact Town Hall at 845-429-2200.

Also available is a nature walking or jogging path for the publics pleasure along the Mineceongo creek. The Town of Haverstraw also stocks the Mineceongo creek each year with Trout usually late March or early Fall for anyone interested in fishing.
