The Architectural Review Board meets every second and fourth Monday of the month when an application has been given final approval
It is the purpose of this article to preserve and promote the character and appearance and conserve the property values of the Town. by doing so it is the Boards intent to enhance the Towns attractiveness of residential and business and preserve the economic mainstay of the community, by providing procedures for an architectural review of structures henceforth erected, reconstructed or altered in the Town, and hereby to:
- Encourage good qualities of exterior building design and appearances and relate such designs and appearances to the sites and surroundings of the structure.
- Permit originality and resourcefulness in building design and appearance which are appropriate to the sites and surroundings.
- Prevent such design and appearance as is unnecessarily offensive to visual sensibilities.
Application must be accompanied by plans.
Upon filing of an application with the secretary to the board, a fee shall be payable to the Town of Haverstraw in accordance with the schedule of fees as adopted.

The schedule of fees does not include the services of any legal, planning, engineering, environmental or other requirements determined necessary by the board.
