The Planning Board meets every second Wednesday of the month at 7:30PM in the large meeting room of Town Hall.
It is the legislative intent of the Planning Board to consider land subdivisions and site development plans as part of a plan for the orderly, efficient and economical development of the Town of Haverstraw.
The Planning Board has the authority to review, approve or disapprove the subdivision plats and site plans within the Town of Haverstraw that consist of the following:
- Minor Subdivision -
Any subdivision containing three (3) lots or less fronting on an existing street, not involving any new street, road or the extension of municipal facilities or the creation of any public improvements.
- Major Subdivision -
All subdivisions not classified as minor, including but not limited to a subdivision of four (4) or more lots or any size subdivision requiring any new street or extension of municipal facilities or the creation of any public improvements.

- Minor Site Plan -
A site plan involving construction which does not exceed any or all of the following limitations:
- Construction of or addition to a structure, with the construction not exceeding four-hundred (400) square feet.
- Construction or addition of no more than three (3) parking spaces.
- Construction which does not require the granting of any variances.
- Major Site Plan -
Any site development plan not classified as a minor site development plan.
