The Town Board and I hope that the information provided to you will assist you and inform you about Town Government and the services that we render and also discover the opportunities and amenities that the Town of Haverstraw offers to our residents.

Our website will keep you updated on the many recreational and cultural activities that have been scheduled.

I am proud to be the Supervisor of the Town of Haverstraw. Haverstraw is rich in its history, its culture and its people. It is a great place to live and learn. Our future is bright and there are many things happening in Haverstraw which include the County Waterfront Park, development of a town park in the unincorporated area, youth and senior activities and much more.

The Planning Board meets every second Wednesday of the month at 7:30PM in the large meeting room of Town Hall.

It is the legislative intent of the Planning Board to consider land subdivisions and site development plans as part of a plan for the orderly, efficient and economical development of the Town of Haverstraw.

The Planning Board has the authority to review, approve or disapprove the subdivision plats and site plans within the Town of Haverstraw that consist of the following:
  1. Minor Subdivision -
    Any subdivision containing three (3) lots or less fronting on an existing street, not involving any new street, road or the extension of municipal facilities or the creation of any public improvements.

  2. Major Subdivision -
    All subdivisions not classified as minor, including but not limited to a subdivision of four (4) or more lots or any size subdivision requiring any new street or extension of municipal facilities or the creation of any public improvements.

  1. Informal Presentation (No Application)
  2. Sketch Review (Application)
  3. Preliminary/Final Review (Application)
Major Subdivisions Require Four (4) Steps
  1. Informal Presentation (No Application)
  2. Sketch Review (Application)
  3. Preliminary Review (Application)
  4. Final Review (Application)
  1. Minor Site Plan -
    A site plan involving construction which does not exceed any or all of the following limitations:

    1. Construction of or addition to a structure, with the construction not exceeding four-hundred (400) square feet.
    2. Construction or addition of no more than three (3) parking spaces.
    3. Construction which does not require the granting of any variances.

  2. Major Site Plan -
    Any site development plan not classified as a minor site development plan.

Upon filing of an application with the secretary to the board, a fee shall be payable to the Town of Haverstraw in accordance with the schedule of fees as adopted.

Informal Appearance $150.00 Minimum Per Appearance
Sketch Plat Application $150.00 Plus $100.00 Per Lot
Preliminary Plat Application $200.00 Plus $100.00 Per Lot PLus $60.00 Publication Fee If Public Hearing Is Required
Final Plat Application $200.00 Plus $100.00 Per Lot Plus $60.00 Publication Fee
Site Plan Submissions $350.00 Plus $200.00 Per 1,000 Sq. Feet
Site Plan Re-Submission $300.00
Site Plan Final Submission $300.00

$150.00 For Any Additional Planning Board Appearances


The schedule of fees does not include the services of any legal, planning, engineering, environmental or other requirements determined necessary by the board.
