Paul Cleary - Legislator - District 2

I live in Garnerville on Tulip Tree Drive, in the house I was born in. My family came to Haverstraw in 1955.  I was born in 1960, the youngest of six children. I attended North Garnerville Elementary School and Haverstraw Middle School in town.  I attended Albertus Magnus for High School and went to Manhattan College in the Bronx where I received a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1983.  I then worked in the Defense Industry for various contractors and worked on projects for Trident Submarines, Fighter Jets, Doppler Weather Radars, Lasers, Radar Warning Receivers, and more.  In 2000, I joined Intel Corporation and have worked on Software, Telecom, Servers and worldwide sales initiatives.  I am well versed in the latest technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, and the Cloud.  In addition, I am a voracious reader and have been dealing with specifications, proposals and contracts my entire career.  I will read every bill I need to vote on. I am married to my lovely wife Adrienne for 36 years and have three children (Alison, Timothy and Austin) as well as two grandchildren (Honora and Ryan).  My children all attended North Rockland Schools and reside in town.  I have been active in local youth sports where I coached Just for Fun Baseball, Little League Baseball, North Rockland Youth Soccer and North Rockland Youth Hockey.  I volunteer every year for the Fun Run and Halloween Party held at Bowline. I was a member of the Haverstraw 400 Celebration and located the first map to include Haverstraw in 1616 (I got the University of Amsterdam to search their archives for the Dutch West India Company). I was asked to be a part of the Haverstraw Youth Board about 8 years ago and served on the HYB until January 2021 when I was asked to be a member of the Zoning Board. I was my class President throughout my youth.  I received the Good Citizenship Medal in 1975 at Haverstraw Middle School. I never miss an opportunity to vote. I was asked to run for the RCL D2 and am honored to have been elected.  I am a lifelong Democrat and share Haverstraw Democratic Party values.  I am a hard working (50-60 hours per week), a fast learner, well educated, pragmatic, friendly and empathetic. I maintain the highest ethical standards and have unrivaled integrity.  I have been doing public speaking since grammar school.  I am owned by no one, and will stand up for Haverstraw and my constituents.  I will ensure that Haverstraw is no longer neglected by the County and that we get our share of State/County resources. I humbly ask for your support, and I can assure you that I will work as hard as my friend Michael has done during his tenure.

Sincerely, Paul C. Cleary
